With Brandon Scherff likely on the way out of Washington after this season, the Commanders need a right guard to take his place. Now, they could go out and sign a veteran, or they can draft from the plethora of guards available in the 2022 NFL Draft.

As mentioned earlier, Ron Rivera loves versatility, experience, leadership from his draft selections, and Memphis’s Dylan Parham would fit the Rivera mold.

Dylan Parham is a four-year starter that has played all across the line, from both guard spots to even some snaps at Right Tackle.

His work in pass protection, especially last season, was fantastic. Parham did not allow a single sack last season, while allowing only two quarterback hits on the year.

He’s been as consistent as they come at the collegiate level, despite being a tad bit undersized for the position, he’s an exceptional athlete that excels when he’s able to cross defenders’ faces and get up into the second level.

Parham also played well when in zone-blocking scenarios, as he posted a grade from Pro Football Focus of 81.8 when in this specific blocking technique. Why that’s important is because Washington’s run-game is at it’s best when zone-blocking, so adding a guy like Parham immediately makes him a fit scheme-wise, while athletically, he passes Rivera’s test as well.
