We’re rapidly approaching one of the most significant days in the history of the Washington Football Team franchise.

In less than three weeks, Washington will reveal its new nickname and collection of uniforms. There’s widespread debate on what the new moniker should be, and to say fans are split would be an understatement.

We’re not here to given an opinion. Just relay the facts. All we know about the name is that “Red Wolves” or anything with “Wolves” in the nickname has been withdrawn from consideration due to copyright concerns.

The nickname “Warriors” has also been removed the pot because the name “too closely aligns with Native American themes,” as team president Jason Wright said in a statement last summer explaining the decision.

With that said, plenty of contenders remain and fans are driving themselves mad trying to pinpoint which way the club is leaning.

Regardless of what gets the nod, this will still go down as a preeminent moment in franchise history. It signals a new era of Washington Football, one that will hopefully resemble consistency both on and off the field.

So, how can you watch the reveal? Let’s get into it.

How you can watch the Washington Football Team’s name reveal

Fans of the Washington Football Team can catch the highly-anticipated name reveal live on the NBC Today Show on Feb. 2.

Not exactly what we would’ve picked, but beggars can’t be choosers. Sorry, but why couldn’t Washington pick a local tv show rather than one based in New York, the home of the longtime rival Giants? Oh well.

Getting back to the matter at hand, Washington will be offering fans the chance to come out and celebrate the club’s rebrand in the form of a “Park-N-Party” tailgate event outside FedEx Field on Friday, Feb. 4, two days after the reveal.

The event is $5 per vehicle and will include activities like meet-and-greets with some Washington alumnus, taking photos with the team’s Lombardi trophy, a firework show and other tailgate games.

In another neat touch, fans can get an up-close look at Washington’s new apparel. That, for anybody wondering, includes both the jerseys and helmets. And no, we don’t know if you’re allowed to “touch” them.

What we do know, though, is that the event will also offer fans the opportunity to purchase the new apparel at a mobile Fanatics Team Store.

Season-ticket and suite holders will get access to pre-sale tickets on Jan. 26 before tickets go on sale to the general public two days later. All proceeds will go to the Washington Football Charitable Foundation, which is committed to helping and supporting the local community with a special focus on children.

Get excited, folks! It won’t be long now.
