The Washington Football Team has been the talk of the NFL this week following last Sunday’s incident that saw a railing full of Eagles fans by the away locker room collapse and nearly injure Philly quarterback Jalen Hurts.

As if that wasn’t a bad enough look, a few witnesses have since refuted a statement from Washington that claimed stadium officials offered medical assistance to the fallen fans. After looking back at the tape, it certainly looked like Hurts did most of the heavy lifting in that department.

But we digress.

Fans are also butting heads following the reveal of the release date for the organization’s new nickname. Our best advice is to stay of Twitter, because it’s hostile. If you’re brave enough to open the app, tread lightly.

Again, we digress.

After the chaotic week, suffice it to say fans could use a pick-me-up. Well, we’ve got just the thing. Check out this wholesome clip of Washington great Santana Moss heaping praise on current face of the franchise, Terry McLaurin.

Former Washington star Santana Moss praising Terry McLaurin is perfect content.

As far as Washington’s quarterback carousel is concerned, Moss has been in McLaurin’s shoes, so he knows how frustrating it must be for the 25-year-old to go long stretches without making an impact.

The exchange admittedly got a little awkward when Moss brought up McLaurin’s future, which is a terrifying thought for all Washington fans amid the team’s inability to find stability at the quarterback position, but it’s clear the former Pro Bowler wants McLaurin to spend his entire career in Landover.

While Moss’ quarterback situation with Washington was more favorable than McLaurin’s has been over his first three seasons, it wasn’t great, and he still went on to enjoy a fine career. With all due respect to Moss, though, it’s pretty apparent McLaurin is the more naturally-gifted receiver. If the ascending superstar sticks it out, he can do even greater things for this franchise.

For those who need a reminder, Moss racked up three 1,000-yard seasons with Washington. He logged more than 100 targets in seven of those years and tallied 70 or more catches in five of his 10 years in Ashburn.

When the dust settled on his Washington tenure, the former first-rounder finished with the third-most catches (581), fourth-most receiving yards (7,867) seventh-most touchdowns (47) and most targets (1,004) in franchise history.

See what we’re saying?

It’s clear Moss thinks McLaurin can reach similar heights. Whether he does or not is a story for another day.

The big takeaway here is that it was awesome to see one of the greatest receivers in Washington history gush over a player whom many believe is the best WR talent to pass through the organization in decades.

McLaurin’s response made it all the more worthwhile, too. Nothing but love and respect between the two playmakers.
