1. Jamin Davis

We mentioned this in our postgame recap, but fans officially have our permission to panic about Jamin Davis.

While we still believe Davis can become an impact player and acknowledge the fact that he was drafted with an eye on the future, there’s simply no defending a first-round pick getting benched in favor of a seven-year journeyman in David Mayo who’s started 21 of a possible 100 games in his career.

We hate to even say this, but it can be argued that Davis has been the most disappointing of all 32 first-round picks from last April.

It’s become obvious the Kentucky product was over-drafted and we can’t help but wonder how far he would’ve fallen if Washington wasn’t so eager to snag him with the No. 19 overall pick.

You’re probably talking about the middle of the second round, right around the time Cleveland netted Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah at No. 52 overall.

If you want to treat Davis with kid gloves, be our guest. It’s about time folks start critiquing him like a first-round selection and stop celebrating his occasional splash play. He’s not a Day 3 pick and should have more than 67 tackles (one for loss), one sack, one pass breakup and one QB hit on his rookie resume.

It sucks it’s reached this point, but Davis’ stock is plunging after Mayo was preferred against the Eagles’ run-heavy offense.

Big yikes for the rook.
