Week 15 Reality Checks: Washington vs COVID-19
By Tim Payne
2. The Reality Is, two of the most significant question marks on Sunday aren’t COVID-related.
Washington is currently without Terry McLaurin and JD McKissic, as both players remain in the concussion protocol. If neither is able to test out of the protocol and play on Sunday, it’s hard to imagine the offense having enough fire-power to dominate time of possession and sustain drives to keep their decimated defense off the field.
And without that game script resurfacing after a hiatus last week against Dallas, it’s unlikely Washington is even competitive in this game, let alone victorious. McLaurin practiced on Thursday, so the injury report on Friday may tell the tale on his availability for Sunday. McKissic has not practiced this week, so the only chance of him participating on Sunday will be for him to practice Friday and get cleared on Saturday or first thing Sunday. At the moment, I honestly don’t expect either of them to be eligible for this game.
