3. The Reality Is, this offense is versatile.

While a run-first mentality has certainly emerged in Washington over the past three games, it’s also increasingly clear that this offense is more versatile than any offense Washington has had in the last handful of years.

Terry McLaurin, Logan Thomas and JD McKissic are all extremely difficult one-on-one matchups capable of routinely beating man coverage.  Heinicke has proven to be exceptional at operating Scott Turner’s offense against zone to make it through his progressions and distribute the ball to the open guy.

When you have multiple players who can consistently beat man coverage and a quarterback who can beat zone coverage, you have a versatile passing attack. Throw in a dominant offensive line and a combination of power and shiftiness in the backfield with Antonio Gibson and McKissic, and a mobile quarterback? This offense has a chance to keep getting better as the season rounds into the home stretch.
