The Bad: Injuries continue to pile up

3: Washington’s defense had only given up one 30+ yard play after the bye week coming into Monday night, but the Seahawks had three big plays with 55 and 39-yard receptions by Tyler Lockett and a 32-yard reception by Freddie Swain.

The 55-yarder looked like a complete miscommunication between William Jackson and Bobby McCain and led to a touchdown on the drive. The 32-yarder was a wide-open touchdown to Swain after Deshazor Everett had to step in for an injured Landon Collins.

4: With Wes Schweitzer getting injured in the game, Washington had to use its fourth-string center. Joey Slye also got injured in the game and was put on IR, meaning Washington will also be using their fourth kicker of the season. Washington also saw J.D. McKissic get carted off after taking a big hit.

1: Washington has only scored one touchdown in the first quarter this season, which is the lowest in the NFL. They still have issues on early drives, as they went three-and-out on the first drive against Seattle.

2: Washington had two kill shot opportunities in this game that didn’t go their way. With 13 minutes left, Washington faced a 4th-and-1 from Seattle’s 47. Antonio Gibson broke down the right sideline for a 37-yard gain, but the play was called back for holding on Brandon Scherff. The drive ended with a punt.

The second opportunity was when Logan Thomas caught the ball in the end zone with 2:25 remaining. After being ruled a catch on the field, the play was overturned after further review. Was their indisputable evidence to overrule the call? You be the judge.

3: When Joey Slye had his PAT blocked and returned for a touchdown, it led to a three-point swing. Instead of Washington leading 10-7, the Seahawks tied the game at 9. To add insult to injury, Slye was hurt on the play and Washington could not attempt field goals for the remainder of the contest.

96: No matter how much credit the defense deserves, you can’t let Seattle go 96 yards with just over two minutes left. Fuller came up big at the end, but it should not have gotten to that point.

0: After taking a 17-9 lead, Washington had four additional possessions (not including the kneel down to end the game), and came away with zero points. Washington had three three-and-outs, where it failed to convert on 3rd and 1 (2x) and 3rd and 2. The fourth drive was reminiscent of the final drive against Tampa, but it came away without points.

The wins aren’t always pretty, but this team is resilient. With an 0-4 record against AFC teams thus far this season, we’ll have to see if Washington can continue its magic in Las Vegas.
