If you went to bed early on Monday night, you missed a heck of a game, as the Washington Football Team proved that you shouldn’t be sleeping on their playoff chances.

Coming in with a 2-17 record on Monday Night Football with eight straight MNF losses, you could have written off Washington’s chances against a future Hall of Fame quarterback in Russell Wilson. You could have thought the wins over the Bucs and Panthers were a lucky streak rather than this football team performing how many expected coming out of the gate.

Those doubts should be gone after Monday night’s domination of the Seahawks. Yes, the final score showed a two-point margin, but Washington thoroughly outplayed Seattle, controlling the time of possession and all but shutting down the Seahawks for the majority of the game.

But, it wouldn’t be a signature Washington victory without its wild moments. And wild moments, there were aplenty.

From a blocked PAT returned for two points, the punter kicking off, an overturned touchdown pass that would have ended it, the fourth-string center getting playing time, a clutch interception on Seattle’s two-point conversion attempt, to the onside kick recovery that wasn’t.

Washington’s third straight win puts the team in playoff position.

It wasn’t always pretty, but Washington came away with the victory, which is what winning organizations do (yes, that felt weird to type). With the victory, Washington currently holds the final wild-card playoff spot and will once again be playing meaningful football in December. That’s not a feeling Washington fans are too familiar with, but with Ron Rivera at the helm, it just might be a feeling we can get used to.

Let’s get into the numbers from Washington’s wild Week 12 win against the Seahawks.
