The Washington Football Team has a superstar on their hands in Terry McLaurin.

It’s unclear how far outside of the fan base that sentiment rings true, but we will sing McLaurin’s praises until we’re blue in the face until his name is mentioned alongside some of the game’s best wide receivers.

Though he was invisible down the stretch of Sunday’s win over Carolina, McLaurin put on a show at Bank of America Stadium.

The 25-year-old stud notched five catches on seven targets for 103 yards and a touchdown, which he hauled in despite the Panthers’ defensive back trying to rip his helmet off by the facemask.

McLaurin isn’t the type of player to celebrate after finding the end zone. He does it on occasion, but he scores too much to make it routine.

However, in Washington’s first game without Chase Young, McLaurin couldn’t help but give a nod to his former Ohio State teammate.

Washington WR Terry McLaurin showed love to Chase Young after his touchdown vs the Panthers.

There was immediate speculation on Twitter following the score whether McLaurin was actually showing love to Young, and the former Buckeye confirmed after the game that was why he broke out in dance.

“It was,” McLaurin told reporters. “He used to do that dance in college in front of the team all the time.”

What a teammate. While Young was in good spirts on the sidelines after he emerged from the locker room with crutches in Week 10 against Tampa Bay, it had to be eating him alive he couldn’t be out there on Sunday.

The first game missed in a long recovery process is always the hardest, and McLaurin made sure Young knew his teammates got his back. What better way to do that than to debut Young’s signature dance move from college?

That, and giving Young a quick shoutout on Twitter, obviously.

McLaurin’s score came at a turning point in the game, as it helped Washington nod things up at 14 apiece in the waning moments of the first half.

In a game that was begging one of Cam Newton, Christian McCaffrey, DJ Moore, Brian Burns or Haason Reddick to steal the spotlight and deliver a fairytale ending in Newton’s return to Charlotte, it was McLaurin and Taylor Heinicke (among others) who controlled the narrative at Bank of America Stadium.

Sunday was just the latest example of how dominant McLaurin could be on a weekly basis if he has consistent QB play. With the way Heinicke has performed the last two games, No. 17 could get real hot over the final seven games.

If that’s the case, McLaurin better hit up Young for more dance moves.
