What a difference a week can make. After being written off and left for dead, the Washington Football Team pulled a 180 and looked like the team many expected it to be. Coming off the bye week, there were many questions were lingering around Washington, and for one week, the team squashed all that noise, coming away with an impressive 29-19 victory against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Less than one year after Taylor Heinicke’s breakout game against the Bucs in the Wild Card round, he was able to outduel and defeat the “GOAT”. Yes, the Bucs were short-handed, missing key weapons in Rob Gronkowski and Antonio Brown, but the same could be said for Washington, who were missing key components on both sides of the field.

In what was the best team victory of the season, Washington proved that it can’t be written off regardless of the opponent. Last year, the team did the same when they were major underdogs against the then-undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers.

It seems like the team comes out to perform best when it has been written off. No expectations, no problem. From 10-point underdogs to 10-point victors in the team’s third win of the season.

The Washington Football Team benefitted from its desperation.

A four-game losing streak can make you feel desperate. Losing the fan base can make you feel desperate. Seeing your new kicker blewitt, I mean blow it, time and time again, can make you feel desperate. No word epitomizes Washington Football more than that word, and it was nice to see the team finally playing with some desperation.

Winston Churchill said it best, “Beware of driving men to desperation. Even a cornered rat is dangerous.”

Hopefully, Washington can continue to stay desperate and dangerous next week as Ron Rivera has a homecoming against his former team and quarterback in Cam Newton and the Panthers.

Let’s get into the Week 10 numbers.
