3 best prop bets for Washington vs Packers Week 7
By Jerry Trotta
1. Aaron Jones anytime TD scorer (-120)
Washington’s passing defense has been so — how do we put this? — deplorable this season that it’s largely taken away from how the group has defended against the run. While their pass defense currently ranks dead-last, their run D ranks 19th in the NFL by allowing 113.5 yards per game.
Luckily for Washington (sarcasm), they’ll have the luxury of facing one of the most dynamic running backs the league has to offer in Aaron Jones on Sunday. Through six games, Jones has 385 yards and two touchdowns on 4.3 yards per carry.
Not the start Packers fans were expected after he finished fourth in rushing (1,104 yards), fifth in yards per carry (5.5) and 11th in TDs (nine) a season ago. However, that can be attributed to Aaron Rodgers accounting for 14 scores (12 passing, two rushing) and backup AJ Dillon logging 49 rushes thus far.
It’s an admittedly confounding game plan from Green Bay, and fans have expressed their frustration with Jones not being used like a bell-cow. With that being said, though, we like the Pro Bowl RB to find the end zone this Sunday.
There’s no reason to overthink this. Jones is typically a touchdown machine. In fact, he totaled 39 scores (33 rushing) over the last three seasons. Look for him to get back on track in the TD department vs Washington.
