The Washington Football Team returned to winning ways this past Sunday, though it didn’t come easy, as the defense allowed Matt Ryan and Cordarrelle Patterson to eat them alive before Taylor Heinicke decided to play hero.

In order to keep pace with the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East, Washington will have to keep churning out wins, and they’ll look to make it two in a row against a New Orleans Saints team that’s trending in the wrong direction

Of course, the Saints lost at home — their first game in front of a full capacity Superdome in nearly two years — to the New York Giants, who were winless and in free-fall mode entering Sunday’s matchup.

If there was ever a time to play New Orleans, it’s now, so let’s see what Vegas thinks about Washington’s chances to knock them off in Week 5.

Washington vs Saints Odds Week 5

According to  our friends at WynnBET, Washington opens as a surprise home underdog. Ron Rivera’s side checks in at  at +104 on the moneyline (bet $100 to win $104). On the spread, they’re -110 (bet $110 to win $100) to either win outright or lose by two or fewer points (+2).

The over/under, meanwhile is set at 45 points, with both sides getting -110 odds. Doesn’t get much more simple than that. If you feel like placing an early wager, the over is looking mighty fine at the rate Washington’s been giving up points. Not to mention, the Saints just allowed Daniel Jones to throw for 400 yards.

Something to think about.

Washington vs Saints Prediction Week 5

It might seem like we’re talking down on the Saints. Maybe that’s true in a sense, but this is still a well-coached football team that is capable of defeating any team on any given week.

After all, they handed the Packers their only loss of the season in a Week 1 rout and handled a defensively sound Patriots squad (on the road) that just pushed Tom Brady and the defending champion Buccaneers to the brink in primetime.

Additionally, Washington’s defense is the PERFECT matchup to get New Orleans’ struggling offense back on track. We expect the Football Team to take care of business at home, but it could honestly go either way.

Washington 24, Saints 23 in another nail-biter.
