Yes, the Bills have an elite defense and yes, said defense is fresh off pitching a shutout vs the Dolphins in Week 2. However, Miami’s offense is nothing to write home about and Tua Tagovailoa left with a rib injury in the first half, so let’s not act like Buffalo’s D stymied the Chiefs, Buccaneers or Rams.
That isn’t to say we’re expecting Washington to score points at will on Sunday, but an 18-point minimum is hardly a tall ask. After all, Buffalo’s defense surrendered 23 points to the Steelers at home in Week 1 and Pittsburgh’s offense has been among the most disappointing in the league thus far.
We understand fans who question how Taylor Heinicke will fare in his first career road start — Bills Mafia is as hostile as any fan bae in the NFL — but he’s fresh off conducting two scoring drives in the final five minutes last weekend.
