1. JD McKissic compares Heinicke to…

At the end of the day, Heinicke engineered two scoring drives in the final five minutes against the Giants. In doing so, he registered the first game-winning drive of his career. Not bad for a guy who has just three starts in the NFL.

The touchdown pass to Ricky Seals-Jones in the back corner of the endzone was one of the highlights of the Week 2 slate. For the sake of time, though, let’s focus on Heinicke’s second do-or-die drive of the final quarter.

Rivera already touched on Heinicke’s character and overall poise after his interception. However, JD McKissic was so starstruck by the Old Dominion product’s composure that it reminded him of his days with the Seahawks.

While speaking to reporters after the pulse-pounding win, McKissic likened Heinicke’s composure to that of Russell Wilson. YUP.

"“He reminded me of Russell Wilson,” said McKissic. “He was calm; he wanted to make a play. He wanted to do anything it took. The only thing on his mind was winning. He’s got that ‘umph.’ He’s a lovable guy. We know he could do everything. He can pass, he can sit in the pocket, he also can run. He just wants to win. He loves the game.”"

Nothing to see here, folks. Just McKissic comparing Heinicke to one of the most clutch quarterbacks of the last decade. For context, Wilson has authored 24 fourth quarter comebacks and 31 game-winning drives in his career.

Sorry, haters, but Heinicke is THAT guy, and nothing proves it more than these three eye-opening quotes.
