4. Things I liked: Terry McLaurin’s catch

Terry McLaurin is the gift that eternally gives. Every week he gives us something to fall in love with. This week, it was a catch that almost made no sense.

With just over 11 minutes to go in the third quarter, a 3rd-and-4 saw Heinicke wind up a throw that was high enough to join low earth orbit. As it came down, McLaurin was being run into and falling back towards the sideline. But it didn’t seem to matter at all, because Terry came down in bounds with the ball in his hands.

It’s plays like this that reinforce two things. One, that Terry McLaurin is the best receiver this team has had in a very, very long time. Two, McLaurin needs to be force-fed the ball. Because good things seem to be the only outcome when No. 17 is on the other end of a throw. With Fitzpatrick’s future likely on the bench, McLaurin’s solid relationship on the field with Heinicke is bound to produce some more highlight-reel plays.

In a day so deplete of great plays from Washington, Scary Terry refused to let us down. For that, I am eternally grateful.

Now, for the far easier segment, things I didn’t like.
