The Washington Football Team lost its regular season opener to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. You know what that means? The Philadelphia Eagles are alone in first place in the NFC East after Week 1. No, that isn’t a typo.

Luckily for the Football Team, they’ll get the chance to gain some ground in the division against the New York Giants on Thursday night.

The good news for Washington is that the Giants looked even worse than they did on Sunday, getting blown out by Teddy Bridgewater and the Denver Broncos in front of their home fans to the tune of a 27-13 defeat.

For context, it was 27-7 until New York scored a garbage time touchdown on literally the final play of the game.

So, what are the oddsmakers saying about Washington’s chances to get back on the winning side of things? Let’s take a look.

Washington vs Giants Odds Week 2

According to our friends at WynnBet, the Football Team opens up as a four-point favorite over the Giants. They’ll have -110 odds to win by four or more points (bet $110 to win $100). New York, meanwhile is -110 to cover +4.0.

Washington is -200 on the money line (bet $200 to win $100), and the Giants clock in at +170 odds (bet $100 to win $170).

The over/under for Thursday night is set at 42 points, with both sides getting -110 odds, per WynnBet. Given how both offenses performed this past weekend, we’re hard-pressed to think this matchup will be a barnburner.

Washington vs Giants Prediction Week 2

This isn’t easy, folks. However, our gut is telling us that the Football Team will bounce back and get a much-needed win over their longtime rivals. Taylor Heinicke looked sharp after relieving the injured Ryan Fitzpatrick and we’re expecting he’ll keep the passing game humming against a sound Giants secondary.

Speaking of which, expect the Giants’ defense to keep this one close. It’s also worth noting that four of Daniel Jones’ eight wins as a starting QB have come against Washington, so expect Chase Young and Co. to look to make a statement.

Washington wins and covers, 20-14.
