Leading into the final game of the preseason, Ron Rivera and his coaching staff have a few key roster decisions to make. The roster bubble is a lot more dramatic than it is important to the overall success of the team this year, most likely, but it has major ramifications on the lives of the men fighting for spots. It also is a unique peek into the thinking of the Washington Football Team brass.

Some players have, at this point, next to zero chance of making the roster. Others are mortal locks. You can see roster projections and position battles posted all over the place on this site and a million others.

The Reality Is, I agree with the guys on the @WFTPod that while there are currently 85 players on the WFT roster, only about 15 are actually on the roster bubble.

In my mind, here are Washington’s roster locks on offense:

Offensive Roster Locks:

Quarterback

  • Ryan Fitzpatrick
  • Taylor Heinicke
  • Kyle Allen

Offensive Line

  • Brandon Scherff
  • Sam Cosmi
  • Chase Roullier
  • Charles Leno, Jr.
  • Ereck Flowers
  • Wes Schweitzer
  • Tyler Larson
  • Saahdiq Charles

Running Back

  • Antonio Gibson
  • Jaret Patterson
  • JD McKissic

Wide Receiver

  • Terry McLaurin
  • Curtis Samuel
  • Dyami Brown
  • Adam Humphries

Tight End

  • Logan Thomas
  • John Bates
  • Sammis Reyes
