The Washington Football Team will look to end their preseason campaign with a winning record when they take on the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday.

We all know the preseason isn’t a contest for the best record, right? It’s all about the development of young players and avoiding injury. That much is obvious. However, Saturday’s game presents a unique opportunity for Washington.

After all, the Ravens have rattled off 19 consecutive preseason wins, which is tied for the longest streak in NFL history.

That might not seem like a significant achievement given that the league’s best players hardly play in the preseason, but winning 19 straight games in such a physically-demanding sport is nothing to sniff at.

With that in mind, you’d think the Football Team would get up for the game and try to end the streak, right? You bet.

During his latest media session, Chase Young was asked about the streak and hinted that Washington will be out for blood.

Chase Young clearly wants to end the Ravens’ winning streak.

We can’t be the only ones who got chills reading that quote.

It remains to be seen how many snaps the Football Team’s starters will play on Saturday. However, given that it’ll be the final tune-up before the regular season, the first-team offense and defense should get extended run.

We know the Ravens have the secret formula when it comes to winning in the preseason — their streak is tied with Vince Lombardi’s (!) Packers, who won 16 straight from 1959 to 1962 — but something tell us Chase Young and the rest of the roster will be out to send a message to the AFC juggernaut.

Let’s get one thing clear, though. We don’t want Young and Co. to be so intent on ending Baltimore’s streak that they throw caution to the wind. Play hard and play to win, but PLEASE don’t put yourself at risk for injury.

That, of course, is easier said than done, but Young knows his limits. If he doesn’t, let’s hope Ron Rivera reminds the Defensive Rookie of the Year that the 2021 season is more important than winning one preseason game.

As evidenced by his strip sack of Cam Newton minutes into Washington’s Week 1 clash vs the Patriots, Young is ready for the regular season.

The fact the former No. 2 overall pick is this amped to end the Ravens’ streak, well, let’s just say we scared to think about how much hunger and motivation he’ll have once the regular season rolls around on Sept. 12.
