The Washington Football Team will kick off its final preseason game on Saturday night. They will play the team just up the road from Landover, the Baltimore Ravens, and the starters are not expected to play all that much.

Like in previous years, the final preseason game is about ironing out any remaining roster or position battles. Washington will most likely give Baltimore a heavy dosage of Kyle Allen and the other third-stringers.

The final roster cuts will come on Tuesday, Aug. 31, so it is paramount for the coaching staff that they get a good look at these players.

As the game is fast approaching, here are three roster battles to eye tonight.

Three roster battles to eye against the Baltimore Ravens for the Washington Football Team.

3. The final WR spots

This one is the most obvious. The Washington Football Team has a neck-and-neck battle for the players vying for the final roster spot(s) at the position group.

The finalists are considered to be Antonio Gandy-Golden, Dax Milne, and DeAndre Carter, however, recently Ron Rivera spoke about how Isaiah Wright has impressed him in training camp. Wright’s performance against Baltimore will be one to watch.

As of now, Gandy-Golden probably has a slight edge due to how much higher the investment was in him comparative to the others. Milne has impressed at camp and is making himself hard to cut. Carter could be kept as a return specialist if Washington elects to go with a seven-man wide receiver room.

However, with both Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic being very capable in the passing game, there may not be much value in keeping seven receivers.

Each of these receivers should see a lot of playing time. And each of them needs to perform well to make the best case for the final WR spots.
