Cornerback

  • Starter:  William Jackson
  • Starter:  Kendall Fuller
  • Benjamin St-Juste
  • Jimmy Moreland
  • Troy Apke

The surprise name on the cornerback list is Troy Apke.  The converted safety is in a fierce battle with Torry McTyer, but we’ll give the edge to Apke based on his special teams acumen.  During the season, Benjamin St-Juste could start on the outside and push Kendall Fuller to the slot position.

Either way, the Football Team is loaded at CB.

Strong Safety

  • Starter:  Landon Collins
  • Starter: Kamren Curl (Buffalo Nickel)
  • Deshazor Everett

Landon Collins has made an incredible recovery from a devastating achilles injury last season.  The former Alabama star is having a great summer and preseason and seems poised to enjoy a big bounce-back year.

Free Safety

  • Starter:  Kamren Curl (Buffalo Nickel)
  • Darrick Forrest
  • Jeremy Reaves

Kamren Curl produced a rookie season for the ages and now he returns as a seasoned starter.  Look for him to shine at the Buffalo Nickel position. Jeremy Reaves should receive plenty of snaps at free safety and Darrick Forrest will need a year to acclimate to the next level.
