Coming in to the 2020-21 season, the Washington Football Team searched for significant improvement in their room after failing to find any sense of dynamic punch on the perimeter outside of star wideout, Terry McLaurin.

From the Paul Richardson’s to the Josh Doctson’s, the Football Team has struck gold once in recent years when it comes to the WR room. Outside of McLaurin, Washington was trapped with minimal needle-movers on the outside.

Knowing that significant changes must be made, the Football Team signed two receivers this off-season and drafted a couple more as well.

There’s a completely new dynamic there in Washington, now with depth across the board on the perimeter. It’s a great thing to have, but with the 53-man roster cutoff approaching, decisions must be made and players must be sent packing.

There are three wideouts who will surely make this team. Curtis Samuel, Dyami Brown and McLaurin are absolute locks to make this roster. Fighting for three roster spots will be Adam Humphries, Steven Sims Jr., Antonio Gandy-Golden, Dax Milne, Kelvin Harmon, DeAndre Carter, Isaiah Wright, and so on.

With three pre-season games ahead, along with numerous practice sessions in their future, the Football Team will take these six wide receivers with them on opening day against the Chargers.

These six WRs will make the Washington Football Team’s final roster.

1. Terry McLaurin

No surprises. Terry McLaurin will make this roster, he’s already made this roster, he could not practice for the next month, and he’ll still be on this roster.

McLaurin is coming off one of the best sophomore seasons in Washington history, with 87 catches, over 1100 yards and four trips to the endzone. He accounted for nearly 40% of WFT’s total passing yards in 2020, despite battling two ankle injuries for the last quarter of the season.

McLaurin’s rise as a top-10 wide receiver is something that nobody saw coming. Initially brought in as a special teams ace, McLaurin has proven himself as one of the best route-runners in football, with a true superstar impact out wide.

Likely the focal point of Washington’s offense in general, McLaurin will finally have a competent starter in Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing him the football. Expect major things from the third-year wideout, from Pro-Bowl honors to even All-Pro recommendations.
