6. Camaron Cheeseman needs to earn Rivera’s trust.

Nick Sundberg gave this franchise 10 years of extremely reliable long-snapping. Ron Rivera moved up in the draft to select Cheeseman as Sundberg’s replacement, in spite of Sundberg being available. That’s a risky move that indicates a lot of confidence in someone who was headed to dentist school.

Reports are that Cheeseman had a couple of rough snaps in last Friday’s open practice at FedEx Field. He’ll need to have a clean game against New England to get that bad taste out of Rivera’s mouth and, more importantly, give Tress Way and Dustin Hopkins confidence they can rely on him this season.
