After a blazing start to his NFL career with the Giants, who drafted him in the second round back in 2015, Landon Collins’ trajectory has taken a turn for the worse in Washington.

For those who forget, Collins made three straight Pro Bowls with New York from 2016-2018, which included an All-Pro selection in 2016. Since then, the 27-year-old has been a shell of his former self, managing just one interception and five pass breakups in 22 starts for WFT.

A healthy Landon Collins would be a huge boost for WFT’s defense.

To make matters worse, Collins suffered a torn Achilles seven games into last season. The projected timetable for those injuries is generally 10-12 months, but Collins has miraculously been involved at camp and has shown glimpses of the star he was in the Big Apple.

On Friday, Collins was flying all over the practice field making plays. On Saturday, it was much of the same, only he intercepted Ryan Fitzpatrick on two occasions. Keep in mind the former Alabama star is still working his way back to full strength after a devastating injury.

Reports out of camp suggest Collins looks faster than ever, which could be the result of him dropping weight this offseason or him being more comfortable in the system. Whatever the case, Collins looking healthy and making an impact at camp is huge news for Washington.
