No. 6 – Tight End

2021 – Logan Thomas, John Bates, Sammis Reyes

2020 – Logan Thomas, Jeremy Sprinkle, Temarrick Hemmingway

I’ll leave this one as a TBD.  But fourth-round pick John Bates can’t be any worse then Jeremy Sprinkle, right?

I could never figure out Sprinkle as a fan. I’d see Sprinkle at camp and just be wowed by his size and strength. He had the look of an NFL Player; I figured it would just be a matter of time before he blossomed. Sadly, that never happened.

Bates wasn’t a highly productive player in college, but many have said he’s got great hands. A solid blocker, Bates can potentially be a nice compliment to Thomas.

It’s also important to note, Thomas is entering the final year of his contract.  If he produces again this year, his extension will come with a hefty price tag.  It’s important the Washington Football Team develops Bates and give him enough snaps to have a clear understanding of what they have at the position as they look beyond 2020.  Fan favorite Samiss Reyes will be fortunate to simply make the team.

The other positional groups not listed (DE, DT, RB, SAF) didn’t have enough player turnover to make the ranking.
