Best Washington Football Team position battles to watch.

July is here. That means NFL training camps will begin in less than a month.

Get excited Washington Football Team fans. It’s almost time to see how these new additions work out on the field.

For the second consecutive offseason, Washington took a measured approach in free agency and via the draft. They made some calculated moves in free agency adding Ryan Fitzpatrick, Curtis Samuel and William Jackson III to the roster and continued to strengthen their roster in the draft.

This team looks faster on paper. Their defense looks stronger, too. And if all goes well, their offense should take a step forward with some upgraded personnel.

Either way, fans seem willing to trust Ron Rivera after he led the team to a surprising 7-9 record in the weak NFC East and got them to the playoffs in his first season. As well they should since Rivera seems to be implementing the long-needed culture change very well in the locker room and across the organization.

That said, Rivera loves competition, and he’s sure to create some once training camp rolls around. Some players are already established starters, but as the team looks to fill roster spots and select their starters at their vacant positions, Rivera will let anyone and everyone on the team compete.

In other words, there will be some interesting position battles that take place during the offseason. But Washington Football Team fans should pay particular attention to these three once training camp arrives.
