ESPN Analyst and former NFL back-up Dan Orlovsky has been very outspoken in his praise for the talent that the Washington Football Team now possesses. He has been since the conclusion of the COVID-filled NFL season.

Now, it appears that Orlovsky is very confident that Washington is a team to look out for in the 2021 NFL Season.

What Dan Orlovsky thinks about the Washington Football Team

More from Riggo's Rag

In a recent appearance on ESPN’s NFL Live, Orlovsky named Washington as one of his top four teams in the NFC after the offseason. This came alongside teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Los Angeles Rams, and the Arizona Cardinals.

Orlovsky said, “I think, first of all, this offense is going to be predicated on a ton of speed. This might be the fastest offense in the NFL.”

He went on to explain the speed of Terry McLaurin and free-agency addition Curtis Samuel and how Curtis Samuel can be a valuable key to this offense. Two other players he made notable on his take were UNC’s Dyami Brown as well as returning running back Antonio Gibson.

Orlovsky said, “Those are four guys that have absolute gas on offense.”

Now as a Washington fan myself I agree with this take wholeheartedly, of course. But when thinking from an outside view on the Washington Football Team, I still agree with this take.

Washington is an offense opposing teams should fear.

One of the biggest questions WFT fans have for this offense is what is the QB situation looking like going into Richmond’s training camp set to take place in a little while.

Taylor Heinicke showed out and proved he was more than just a one-game fluke while veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick showed that he fits well into any team. Not just on the field, but in the locker room and off the field as well.

Orlovsky also touched on this saying:

"“Now Fitzy has those roller-coaster rides, right? Because he plays with no fear of failure. He’s just going to play that YOLO, chuck-and-duck style of football. But he plays his best when he’s got a defense that can bail him out a little bit. And that’s what he’s got in Washington; a dominant defense.”"

Now although Fitzpatrick does have those tendencies to just say YOLO, I love that about some football players. They go out there and they play without fear, which is something I feel coach Ron Rivera is trying to engrain into this team. especially with these younger guys.

Now when it comes to making careless mistakes, that’s obviously an entirely different conversation. But there is, without a doubt, something with this new Washington Football Team offense that should have Washington fans feeling more confident every day heading into next season.

It’s not just the talent that the team has. There’s an atmosphere of team chemistry and bonding that I feel has been missing on the offensive side of the ball for years.

One thing for certain is that no matter what happens in training camp in Richmond later this summer, the true test to see how all of these offseason moves and workouts will come in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
