Linebacker

Rostered: (5) Jon Bostic, Cole Holcomb, Jamin Davis, Khaleke Hudson, David Mayo

Selecting Jamin Davis was a must for the Washington Football Team in the 2021 NFL Draft. It wouldn’t be surprising if the young defender is selected to the all-rookie team, or sees votes for Defensive Rookie of the Year. His upside is unlimited.

Cole Holcomb and Khaleke Hudson should see plenty of game action along with Davis and Jon Bostic. Speed and toughness will not be lacking with this combination of players.

David Mayo should see special teams duty for the most part, but playing time will likely be limited to fill in duties. However, after Mayo, the rest of what is on the current roster is extremely limited and unproven. Hence the reason for only keeping five linebackers versus the ideal six.

This group screams, more than most, the need for quality depth, and potentially the addition of another veteran. If a decent veteran linebacker around the league is cut, it may be worth keeping an eye on. The young talent is there, but another veteran addition could take this group to the next level.
