Wide Receivers

Much like the tight ends, there are many receivers that will be engaged in a fierce battle for a spot on the roster of 53.  However, the talent level overall is greater with the receiving corps and that will make the competition much more spirited.

We are going to assume that the Washington Football Team will keep six receivers in 2021.  It wouldn’t be surprising to see the team keep seven, but we’ll stay with the latter for now.

  • Terry McLaurin
  • Dyami Brown
  • Curtis Samuel
  • Cam Sims
  • Kelvin Harmon
  • Adam Humphries
  • Isaiah Wright
  • Antonio Gandy-Golden
  • Dax Milne
  • Steven Sims

We anticipate that McLaurin and Brown will start on the outside and Samuel will be in the slot.  Samuel will also see action on the outside, at running back, and possibly take direct snaps.  Cam Sims, Kelvin Harmon, and Adam Humphries round out the six receivers on our list.

This will not be popular, but it’s possible that Antonio Gandy-Golden will be released later this summer.  There are whispers that he lacks motivation and is lackadaisical on the practice field.  Steven Sims could be released as well and while he began showing a lot of promise towards the end of his rookie season, the former Jayhawk has struggled since then.

Isaiah Wright and Dax Milne are candidates for the practice squad.  Wright could be on the roster of 53 if the Washington Football Team is inclined to keep seven receivers on the active roster.

2021 Prediction

  • Terry McLaurin – 73 receptions for 1,032 yards, four touchdowns
  • Dyami Brown – 52 catches for 817 yards, four touchdowns
  • Curtis Samuel – 54 catches for 821 yards, 21 rushes for 146 yards, six touchdowns (five receiving, one rushing)
  • Cam Sims – 31 receptions for 462 yards, three touchdowns
  • Kelvin Harmon – 17 receptions for 108 yards
  • Adam Humphries – 16 receptions for 112 yards, two touchdowns
