Three players that could help the Washington Football Team as they return from injuries.

The Washington Football Team has had a busy, yet productive offseason since that gut-punch of a playoff loss to the eventual Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. New blood was drafted, free agents were signed, trades were made.

The Washington Football Team has upgraded its roster among the various position groups. The WFT has brought in 10 new players via the draft, and either signed or traded for other important pieces in the offseason.

Players such as Ryan Fitzpatrick, Curtis Samuel, William Jackson III, Ereck Flowers, Charles Leno Jr, Bobby McCain, Jamin Davis, Sam Cosmi, and Dyami Brown are new to the burgundy and gold, but all should be heard of in some way shape or form throughout the 2021 season. These additions will only further mold what head coach Ron Rivera wants his team to be.

While we analyze the roster from a production standpoint compared to the previous season, one aspect we tend to forget about is those players coming back from injury.

Three players, in particular, come to mind when discussing the potential impact each player could have on the upcoming season. On an ascending roster, adding production, or potential production, can take this football team to the next level.

While one of the injured players being discussed has yet to truly establish himself as a pro, the other two injured players could have contributed in Washington’s playoff loss. These players, if healthy, might have started, or would have at least been key depth.

As both are on defense (spoiler alert), Washington needed all they could get in trying to defend the powerful Tampa offense. Taylor Heinicke put up a great effort on the offensive side of the ball, but Washington could not get off the field on defense when it mattered most.
