Washington Football Team: Analyzing the team’s offensive line in 2021
Additional Thoughts
The offensive line has improved since the arrival of a new regime earlier last year. The Washington Football Team obviously misses the talent and athleticism of Trent Williams, but the toxicity of the relationship was beyond repair.
The sudden release of Morgan Moses sent shockwaves throughout the league. Analysts and fans continue to question that decision, but through it all, Washington is still improved on the line.
Charles Leno is a talented and experienced veteran and Sam Cosmi could be poised for greatness. The guards have an immense amount of talent and some can double as tackles if needed.
With all of the versatility on the offensive line that we see today, that is why this unit is improved since early last year. Also, the depth has improved substantially and it wouldn’t be surprising if another guard and/or tackle is added in the coming weeks.
Look for the offensive line to continue this transformation next year. Another tackle is likely to be drafted next spring and a guard could be selected as well. It took a few years to build the defensive line and the offensive line is now a focus for the Burgundy and Gold. It’s nice to see Washington giving the offensive line the attention it needs.
Our next analysis of the offensive and defensive units in this series will shift to the tight ends and wide receivers. Massive changes to both units over the last two years have been nothing short of phenomenal. Predictions for these two groups will be a difficult endeavor, so don’t miss it!
