Round 3

Darian Kinnard, Offensive Tackle, Kentucky

The Washington Football Team is likely to continue a rebuilding of the offensive line in 2022 and Darian Kinnard would give the offense two young, talented tackles for the next decade or more.  Kinnard thought about turning pro after the 2020 season, but he made the right choice and decided to hone his skills for another year with the Wildcats.

Kinnard is strictly a right tackle.  He is solidly powerful in the rushing offense, but still needs a bit of work with pass protection.  Another year with Kentucky should help him in his development.  At 6-5, 345, Kinnard could actually lose about ten pounds and improve on his mobility and protection.  He will open up major holes for the running backs, but a small weight loss will make Kinnard more nimble on jet sweeps, screens, and any downfield blocking.
