Analyzing the Washington Football Team’s defensive backs for 2021.

The Washington Football Team began a team rebuild in January 2020 and the process continues with new players added through two drafts and a pair of free agency periods.

When the Washington Football Team charted a new course after a disastrous 2019 season, the new coaching staff and front office set the team on a rebuilding journey that continues to the present.  The challenge for coaches in the 2020 and 2021 offseasons has been finding players that fit the new culture and jettisoning team members that no longer figure into any future plans.

With the most intense period of free agency and the recent NFL draft behind them, the team brain-trust is currently busy shaping a roster that will be finalized in the coming months.  Before taking the field this fall, your Washington Football Team will thoroughly evaluate each unit and player.

The highly detailed process will mold these units into a cohesive team that will endeavor to repeat as NFC East champions in 2021.  Today, we will take a look at one of those units and examine what is needed for them to succeed this season.

Welcome to the second installment of our series that is devoted to bringing you a comprehensive look at each Washington Football Team unit on offense and defense.  In part one, we began with an evaluation of the special teams unit.

Our focal point for today will be the defensive backs.

The defensive backs were bolstered with the addition of one player in free agency and two draftees. As you will see, the Washington Football Team could add another player or two to this unit.  Any long-term injuries could alter the current roster as well.

Here is our outlook and predictions for the defensive backs in 2021.
