The 2021 NFL schedule is here and for the Washington Football Team, it will be a tougher one than usual.

After finishing the season as the NFC East Champion despite a record of 7-9, Washington is set to play a first-place schedule.

Additionally, the team’s normal rotating schedule dictated that they would be playing against opponents from the AFC West and NFC South in addition to their normal NFC East foes. Considering that the AFC West and NFC South are, arguably, two of the best divisions in football, that added another degree of difficulty to Washington’s 2021 schedule.

That said, it’s worth noting that teams often change drastically from year to year. So, while this schedule may look tough on paper right now, it’s possible that Washington’s opponents could look easier down the line, whether it’s due to health or a team failing to live up to expectations.

Remember, many believed the Cowboys would be a tough matchup last year for Washington because of their explosive offense. However, after Dak Prescott got hurt and Andy Dalton took over, they became far less threatening. As such, Washington was able to pummel them on Thanksgiving and earn a critical-but-easy win that aided their chances in the playoff race.

So, nothing is guaranteed, but still, we can look at the team’s schedule and assess what it looks like right now. It will change, but at this point of the offseason, are all just on paper analyses.

Here’s a look at the Washington Football Team’s easiest, toughest, and most critical stretches of the team’s 2021 schedule.
