Washington Football Team: A way-too-early 53-man roster projection
Washington Football Team Roster: Defense
EDGE (5): Chase Young, Montez Sweat, James Smith-Williams, Shaka Toney (R), William Bradley-King (R)
Both of the seventh-round edge rusher selections make the final roster. Smith-Williams makes the roster due to his positional versatility and as an asset on special teams over Casey Toohill.
IDL (4): Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne, Matt Ioannidis, Tim Settle
Chalk. These four round out the best position group for the Washington Football Team
LB (5): Cole Holcomb, Jamin Davis (R), Jon Bostic, Khaleke Hudson, David Mayo
Behind this defensive line, Jamin Davis should be one of the favorites to win Defensive Rookie of the Year. This position group has a ton of speed.
CB (6): Kendall Fuller, William Jackson III, Jimmy Moreland, Benjamin St-Juste (R), Danny Johnson, Darryl Roberts
This position group is also very good. Fuller and Jackson make a great pairing on the outside. Jimmy Moreland may be the most underrated player on the team as a quality nickel corner and there is great depth at the position. St-Juste will play at cornerback, as confirmed by defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio, but expect him to be used all over the secondary.
S (4): Kam Curl, Landon Collins, Jeremy Reaves, Darrick Forrest (R)
With the positional flexibility, St-Juste provides, Washington elects to only keep four safeties. The final spot comes down to Jeremy Reaves and Deshazor Everett. Reaves wins out.
Specialists (3): K Dustin Hopkins, P Tress Way, and LS Camaron Cheeseman
