Washington Football Team Roster: Offense

QB (3): Ryan Fitzpatrick, Taylor Heinicke, Kyle Allen

How good the Washington Football Team can be is contingent on the play of its quarterback. If they can get league average or even good quarterback play from one of these three, this is a dangerous roster.

RB (4): Antonio Gibson, J.D. McKissic, Peyton Barber, Jaret Patterson (R)

More from Commanders News

The first two are roster locks. Scott Turner showed he liked Peyton Barber last year in short-yardage situations and Jaret Patterson will be a contributor at some point next year. For the third straight year, an undrafted free agent makes the final roster.

WR (6): Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel, Dyami Brown (R), Adam Humphries, Cam Sims, Steven Sims Jr.

The first four are roster locks. The final two spots get locked up by the two Sims. Cam Sims beats out Kelvin Harmon and Antonio Gandy-Golden. While Sims Jr. hangs on to his roster spot, due to his special teams’ ability. Dax Milne heads to the practice squad.

TE (3): Logan Thomas, John Bates (R), Sammis Reyes (R)

The selection of John Bates makes two things clear for Washington: They are very high on Logan Thomas as the starter and they’re bullish on Sammis Reyes’s potential. As a bit of a bold prediction, they keep Reyes on the 53-man roster to prevent him from getting snatched off the practice squad.

OT (4): Morgan Moses, Cornelius Lucas, Sam Cosmi (R), Geron Christian

Do not be surprised if Sam Cosmi is the starter at left tackle as early as Week 1. He could be looked at as a steal in the second round within the next few years.

OG (4): Brandon Scherff, Wes Schweitzer, Ereck Flowers Saahdiq Charles

The Wes Martin era ends as the Saahdiq Charles era begins. Wes Schweitzer and Ereck Flowers will make for an interesting battle for the starting LG.

C (2): Chase Roullier, Keith Ismael

This is pretty set in stone. These will be the two centers kept on the final roster, to keep a final total of offensive linemen at 10.
