One of the few bright spots on the Washington Football Team throughout much of the 2010s was the tight end room.

Jordan Reed developed into one of the league’s best, and the ageless Vernon Davis remained a dangerous weapon well into his 30s with the Washington Football Team. Jeremy Sprinkle did a lot of the dirty work as an in-line blocker. As a group, they functioned quite well.

But concussions derailed Reed and age finally caught up to Davis. When Sprinkle was forced into a pass-catching role, the results were not pretty. An overhaul was in order.

We are smack dab in the midst of such an overhaul as we approach the 2021 season. Of the eight tight ends currently under contract to the Washington Football Team, none were on the roster two seasons ago.
