In the final round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Washington Football Team held three selections. They elected to use all of them.

The end result? Washington continued to bolster their defensive line and also added another receiver that could be a steal.

Here’s a look at how each of these three picks could fit in with Washington.

Washington Football Team drafts EDGE William Bradley-King

The first selection that the team made was Baylor edge rusher William Bradley-King. He spent one year at Baylor after a fruitful career at Arkansas State. In his final year at Arkansas State, he recorded 8.5 sacks.

In his lone year at Baylor, Bradley-King had 3.5 sacks in nine games and was impressive knocking down passes as well. He logged four pass defenses and showed off impressive athleticism on his 6-foot-3, 252-pound frame.

Bradley-King is long, powerful, and is a high-motor player. He’ll challenge for a roster spot and will challenge James Smith-Williams and Casey Toohill for playing time behind Chase Young and Montez Sweat.

Washington Football Team drafts EDGE Shaka Toney

Back-to-back edge players? You bet. Ron Rivera loves competition and Toney was one of the best players left on the board. As such, Washington scooped him up and added a sixth man to their edge rush room that could have a chance to make the roster.

Toney is bit smaller than Bradley-King (6-foot-2, 242 pounds) but he has good athletic ability, was a captain during his last season at Penn State, and had at least five sacks in each of the last three seasons.

Toney may not be a perfect scheme fit for Washington, but they can afford to develop him as an athletic backup and special teamer and figure out a way to use him. He may spend a year on the practice squad to begin his career, but the competition on the edge should only make this defense better.

Washington Football Team drafts WR Dax Milne

This is a great value for Washington. Milne was one of the best values still on the board with the penultimate pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-1, 193-pound receiver showed well during his time with the Cougars but was especially good in his final year.

Milne popped on tape for those that watch Zach Wilson play. He racked up 70 catches, 1,188 yards, and eight TDs for BYU while showing off good route running skills. He’s not super strong or athletic, but he finds ways to catch the ball.

Milne can fight for a role in the receiver room and will add an extra layer of depth. He looks like a solid potential contributor.

These picks by Washington all look like good ones, so kudos to Rivera, Marty Hurney, and Martin Mayhew for another well-run draft.
