2021 NFL Mock Draft: Round 3, Picks 65-68

65. Jacksonville Jaguars: C Josh Myers, Ohio State. I couldn’t get this far without giving Urban Meyer a former Ohio State Buckeye. Besides, the Jaguars can move on from Brandon Linder at any time in the next two years without absorbing any dead cap hit. That’s not to say they will, but they need a potential contingency plan at center.

Myers can be just that. The 6-foot-5, 312-pound center had some nice outings for the Buckeyes and could develop a long-term relationship with Trevor Lawrence at center. And if the Jags want to keep him and Linder together, one could move to guard.

66. Minnesota Vikings: EDGE Ronnie Perkins, Oklahoma. Ronnie Perkins had at least five sacks in each of his three seasons at Oklahoma. That’s consistent.

The Vikings need to replace Yannick Ngakoue, so Perkins could at least help in that cause a little bit.

67. Houston Texans: LB Baron Browning, Ohio State. This is the first pick for the Houston Texans. They have needs all over the field so they could go in any number of directions. That said, with an athletic linebacker like Browning on the board, it’s hard to imagine the Texans passing on him.

After all, the team traded Benardrick McKinney this offseason and signed eight new players at the linebacker position. EIGHT! Clearly, Nick Caserio is looking to upgrade that unit.

68. Atlanta Falcons: OL Trey Smith, Tennessee. The Falcons need to add to their offensive line. That could be by adding a tackle and kicking Kaleb McGary inside to guard or by adding a big-bodied guard.

Smith figures to be a guard at the next level, but he could be a plug-and-play starter on the left side. That would help Matt Ryan and Co. fight to try to get back to the playoffs.
