2021 Washington Football Team Mock Draft: Round 7, Pick 246

Will Pick: RB Jake Funk, Maryland

Funk has had some injury concerns during his career (ACL tears) but he showed off some explosive ability in his final year at Maryland, racking up 516 yards and three scores on 8.6 yards per carry. If he can get healthy, he would be a nice backup for Washington.

Plus, Funk is good on special teams, so he could see game-day action even as a third or fourth-string running back. Getting a player like that in the seventh is always a positive.

Should Pick: RB Jake Funk, Maryland

Washington needs more running back depth. Funk has about as much upside as anyone left on the board in this simulation. Need I say more?

Dark Horse: WR Dez Fitzpatrick, Louisville

Fitzpatrick was the definition of a steady contributor over four years at Louisville and he played well during the Senior Bowl. If Washington wants to continue to restock their receiver depth, he could be a nice late-round gem that could become a solid backup and situational player.
