2021 Washington Football Team Mock Draft: Round 3, Pick 82

Will Pick: S Jevon Holland, Oregon

With Holland on the board here, Washington can’t pass him up a second time. After all, he did have at least four interceptions in each of the two collegiate seasons that he played.

Holland could be the final piece of a strong-looking secondary for Washington. Marrying their play to the elite level that the defensive line was operating at least season should give them a chance to emerge as one of the top defensive units in the league.

Should Pick: TE Hunter Long, Boston College

If Washington had passed on Davis Mills, they could’ve added Holland earlier. Then, with this pick, they could’ve added Long. The Boston College product is one of the more well-rounded tight ends in this year’s draft and could pair well with Logan Thomas.

Long would probably be Washington’s No. 2 tight end, but the upside for him to be a steady contributor in all facets of the game does exist.

Dark Horse: EDGE Rashad Weaver, Pittsburgh

Washington does need some depth on the edge. They’ll probably add it late, but if a good enough player is available with their fourth pick, they could at least consider adding him. Weaver had 7.5 sacks last year and was one of the top defensive players on the board. So, why not consider him here even if he is a dark horse?
