Round 4: Rhamondre Stevenson, Running Back, Oklahoma

Before we talk about the one red flag that hangs over Rhamondre Stevenson, let’s talk about how he should be a second-round prospect.

First, Stevenson is a blue-chip rusher and he would give Antonio Gibson a much-needed breather during various moments in each game.  Second, he is a solid receiver coming out of the backfield and will help to keep the defense guessing on each down.

Third, he is a superb and very willing blocker on passing downs.  Stevenson is the total package and he is too talented for the Washington Football Team to pass him by in this round.

Yes, there is a red flag.  Perhaps two if we are nitpicking.  Stevenson had to overcome academic issues, but he took the junior college route and made it work in his favor.  Also, he had a positive drug test just prior to a bowl game in 2019.

Stevenson was suspended for the first few games of 2020, but he did put together several very good games.  Is the past behind him?  It seems so.  Oklahoma has produced many great running backs over many decades, including a time when the program ran the famed wishbone offense.  Stevenson is another one of those great running backs.

Other Possible Fourth Round Targets:

  • Austin Watkins, Wide Receiver, Alabama-Birmingham
  • Monty Rice, Linebacker, Georgia
  • Davis Mills, Quarterback, Stanford
  • Hunter Long, Tight End, Boston College
  • Deonte Brown, Offensive Guard, Alabama
  • Caden Stearns, Free Safety, Texas
  • Dylan Moses, Linebacker, Alabama
