2021 NFL Mock Draft: Bears trade into top 10, Washington Football Team goes offense
In the 2020 NFL Draft, the Titans selected Isaiah Wilson with their first-round pick. He was traded to the Dolphins less than a year later and since has been cut and is out of the league.
That’s not how you want to use an opening-frame selection, but it won’t prevent the Titans from going back to the offensive line well.
Because of Wilson’s catastrophic failure, the Titans now lack options at the right tackle spot. Right now, Ty Sambrailo and Kendall Lamm figure to battle for the job, but neither has proven to be anything more than a fine swing tackle during their NFL careers.
If the Titans look for a longer-term solution at tackle, Jenkins would make a lot of sense. The Oklahoma State product is a 6-foot-6, 320-pound mauler at the right tackle spot. He blasted open countless running lanes for the Cowboys last year and would give the Titans a big-bodied blocker to open up some space for Derrick Henry to run.
Jenkins is a try-hard player with some nastiness to his game. His arms are on the shorter side, but he finds ways to win at the point of attack. He would be a nice bookend for Taylor Lewan and would give the Titans what they thought they were getting in Wilson, albeit a bit lighter and less lengthy than the Georgia tackle.
If Jenkins’ work ethic matches his on-field play, he could be a nice fit with Mike Vrabel in Tennessee. Maybe the Titans would prefer to add a cornerback like Greg Newsome here or maybe they would take an athletic linebacker like Davis, but Jenkins seems to be a nice fit here. This could also be a good trade-down spot for the Titans if they want to acquire some more picks.
