29. Green Bay Packers: Ohio State LB Baron Browning

The Packers earned this reach when they picked Jordan Love and A.J. Dillon with their first two selections in 2020. The 2020 season was still a success for Green Bay, but their recent draft history is abhorrent, until further notice. They’re one of the sleepers for “most surprising first-round pick” this year, and Baron Browning would certainly be a surprise.

Having said all this, I don’t think Browning would be a bad pick. I do think he’d be a bit of a reach, but I’m a big fan of Browning’s withstanding upside. He’s an elite athlete with elite frame density, and he flashes a lot of versatility and high-octane performance on tape. The Packers will need to find a role for him, but Browning has the size, explosiveness, and energy to be a very good player.
