2021 3-round NFL mock draft: Washington Football Team adds a QB
By Ian Cummings
28. Indianapolis Colts (via NO): Texas OT Samuel Cosmi
The Colts traded back with the Saints and acquired more draft capital. Now, they can turn to the needs on their roster. After Anthony Castonzo’s retirement, offensive tackle is a big need. And with Carson Wentz looking to save his career in Indianapolis, the Colts need to make sure he has a supporting cast that makes him comfortable.
Samuel Cosmi may need some time to acclimate to the NFL game, but he has the athletic traits to potentially be a dominant left tackle in time. Cosmi earned a Relative Athletic Score of 9.99 this offseason. At almost 6-foot-6, 314 pounds, he has a 4.87 40-yard dash with a 1.68 10-yard split, a 30-inch vertical, a 117-inch broad jump, and 36 bench reps. Those numbers are just insane.
Cosmi flashes a lot on tape, and he clearly has the power and length necessary to compound his upside. Now, it’s just up to the Colts’ coaching staff to catalyze his development. They’ve had success in that area before.
