2021 3-round NFL mock draft: Washington Football Team adds a QB
By Ian Cummings
12. Philadelphia Eagles: Alabama CB Patrick Surtain II
If Washington Football Team fans are put off by the selections of the Cowboys and Giants, they can take solace in the fact that the Eagles are going to be a dumpster fire at least until 2023. There’s no sense of direction with this team right now. Nevertheless, they can take a baby step forward by hitting on their first-round pick this year.
Given that new head coach Nick Sirianni will likely bring in more zone concepts from the Colts, Patrick Surtain II would be a very good fit at cornerback opposite Darius Slay. Surtain is smart, long, and incredibly fluid, and he’s a top-tier athlete in a similar vein to Horn. He doesn’t quite have the brawler mentality that Horn has, but his ability to simply drape his opponent holds lots of value.
