Washington Football Team picks Round 6

Trade

The Washington Football Team trades both of their seventh-round draft picks and obtain a middle-early sixth-round draft choice.

Justin Hilliard, Linebacker, Ohio State – 6-foot-1, 225 pounds

Justin Hilliard is consistently rated as a seventh-round prospect by most scouting services.  Any teams that underestimate this Buckeye could be making a huge mistake if they bypass him for other prospects.

Finding quality depth at linebacker on day three of the draft is not an easy task, but the Washington Football Team could add this hidden gem by drafting Hilliard.  The front office should trade their seventh-round picks and move to the sixth round and select Hilliard.  He is that underrated!

Hilliard did receive some playing time at Ohio State, but he was third on the depth chart to standouts Pete Werner and Baron Browning.  At many other power five programs, Hilliard could’ve been a starter or a regular contributor.

When he did see action, Hilliard was brilliant and displayed superb skills that included a propensity to tackle behind the line of scrimmage, breaking up passes, create turnovers, and use his laser-like focus to disrupt any play.  Hilliard could be one of the biggest steals of the 2021 draft.

Other Possible Sixth and Seventh Round Targets:

Tony Poljan, Tight End, Virginia

Warren Jackson, Wide Receiver, Colorado St.

Alaric Jackson, Offensive Tackle/Guard, Iowa

Cade Mays, Offensive Tackle/Guard, Tennessee

Cary Angeline, Tight End, North Carolina St.

Royce Newman, Offensive Tackle, Mississippi

Pro Wells, Tight End, Texas Christian

Gerrid Doaks, Running Back, Cincinnati
