What to expect before pick 19

To begin our discussion surrounding what to expect from the Washington Football Team at No. 19 overall, let’s introduce a scenario. Here are my personal predictions for the first 18 picks in the 2021 NFL Draft:

  1. QB Trevor Lawrence – Jaguars
  2. QB Zack Wilson – Jets
  3. QB Mac Jones – 49ers
  4. TE Kyle Pitts – Falcons
  5. QB Trey Lance – Broncos (from Bengals)
  6. OT Penei Sewell – Dolphins
  7. QB Justin Fields – Patriots (from Lions)
  8. WR Ja’Marr Chase – Panthers
  9. OT Rashawn Slater – Bengals (from Broncos)
  10. CB Patrick Surtain II – Cowboys
  11. CB Greg Newsome Jr. – Giants
  12. LB Micah Parsons – Eagles
  13. OT Alijah Vera-Tucker – Chargers
  14. DE Jaelan Phillips – Vikings
  15. CB Jaycee Horn – Lions (from Patriots)
  16. LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah – Cardinals
  17. OT Christian Darrisaw – Raiders
  18. WR Jaylen Waddle – Dolphins

If this plays out as I expect, the top five QBs, top three OTs, top three CBs, top two LBs, and top three offensive weapons will be gone before the Washington Football Team’s turn comes upon this draft. But, the Heisman Trophy winning WR, the best safety, the last remaining top-tier OT, and multiple first-round talents at LB and cornerback will still be on the board.
