Washington Football Team Round 2 picks

Round 2, Pick 48: WR Kadarius Toney, Florida

With the Washington Football Team on the clock at pick 19, the Las Vegas Raiders came calling with an offer that was too good to pass up. Washington received the 48th, 79th, and 80th pick of the 2021 draft as well as Las Vegas’ 2nd round pick in 2022 for the 19th pick and 246th pick.

Despite adding Samuels and Humphries in free agency, seeing Kadarius Toney there midway through the second round was a no-brainer. At 5-foot-11, 195 pounds, Toney isn’t the biggest receiver, but he is a YAC monster that can get down the field, which would work well with Fitzpatrick at the helm.

Toney led all receivers in forced missed tackle rate per PFF in 2020. Over his career, he broke 43 tackles on 120 receptions and 23 additional tackles on 67 rushing attempts. Toney finished with a Relative Athletic Score of 9 and ran a 4.38 40 to go along with a 39.5 inch vertical.

The fact that he is a threat any time he touches the ball whether after a reception, on an end around or on special teams, makes him a good fit for Ron Rivera’s team, as Rivera loves versatility.

Round 2 Pick 51: OT Dillon Radunz, North Dakota State

With Washington’s own second-round pick, the team was able to fill a big need on the offensive line by selecting Dillon Radunz.

Radunz played left tackle at North Dakota State where he finished as a first-team Associated Press All-American his junior year. He began climbing up draft boards after his performance at the Senior Bowl.

At 6-foot-5, 301 pounds, he could stand to gain a bit more mass to handle the rigors of the NFL. He is a prolific run blocker and was tasked with protecting Trey Lance’s blind side in college. According to scouts, he could stand to improve on his footwork and practice habits, but at 51, Washington should be happy to grab him.
