What happens if the Washington Football Team trades down in the 2021 NFL Draft?

After adding Ryan Fitzpatrick, Curtis Samuel, William Jackson III, and Adam Humphries, Washington was able to plug in a few of the holes from last year’s roster. The team can still benefit from adding a linebacker, safety, left tackle, and additional receiving options.

The biggest question mark for Washington long term is who is going to be the long-term answer at quarterback? Many experts believe Washington will look to find the solution by trading up in the draft.

NFL Analyst Michael Lombardi believes that Washington “loves” Trey Lance and will trade up to get him. CBS Sports’ Tom Fornelli has Washington trading up for Mac Jones. The truth of the matter is after the first two picks, which are all but decided, nobody knows how the draft is going to unfold.

Should Washington trade up for a potential franchise quarterback? I don’t think that’s a good idea. Staying put could provide a solid piece like Christian Darrisaw or Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. But what if Washington trades down?

That is what we’ll take a look at in today’s mock draft, which was conducted on Pro Football Network’s Mock Draft Simulator. Let’s jump right in.
