Round 4, Pick 137: WR Jaelon Darden, North Texas

With the selection of Dyami Brown, this pick is more of a luxury than a necessity. With that said, the teams that draft the best do not draft for need. And getting Jaelon Darden at pick 137 is an absolute steal.

Darden is a threat to take it the distance every time he touches the ball. His elite burst and agility make him very dangerous after the catch. He has very loose hips, giving him the ability to create a lot of separation on his routes. He is smooth in and out of his breaks.

Like Curtis Samuel, he offers a lot of versatility. Due to his ability after the catch, he has a lot of gadget potential to get some handoffs on jet sweeps or be used in the screen game — two areas that Scott Turner really likes to use.

Darden is electric and if you just get him the football he will make a play more times than not. As far as weaknesses go, he is not very big. He has a small frame and smaller hands making his ability to catch passes in traffic not as effective.

His smaller frame also somewhat limits his route tree, as you do not want to send him over the middle too often. Darden has a very specific skillset. He is a twitchy receiver with a high upside as a YAC menace at the next level.

He offers positional flexibility and could create even more matchup nightmares for the Washington Football Team offense. He would go in with Curtis Samuel, J.D. McKissic, and Antonio who would all be multi-dimensional threats.

For Darden to get the most out of his skill set, he will need to go to a creative play-caller that can manufacture touches for him. Turner has shown the ability to do that with Washington. Picking Darden at 137 would be a no-brainer.
